Road Infrastructure Plans Brought to the Public by Council

A small crowd attended the Algonquin Theatre for a big presentation by council.

Nearly 20 residents attended the special council meeting last night to hear about the town’s plan to revamp roads around the town.

Council presented a map with a priority list of the roads that will cost around $3 million of the capital budget.

Huntsville Mayor Scott Aitchison believes people will be pleased with the outcome because there is a lot of money going into our roads.

One road receiving a large amount of work this year is Old Muskoka Road. Residents in the area have spray painted where large pot holes are among other issues. The mayor says this spot has been a huge concern for a long time.

With the current infrastructure plan brought by the Canadian government, the mayor says there is a chance roads that were planned on being worked on in future years could receive repairs if there is a funding opportunity.
