A group in Gravenhurst is preparing to welcome a special new family to the community.
Syrian Refugees Gravenhurst is nearing it’s goal of $30,000 raised to support a Syrian refugee family.
Chair of the group, Nicole Edmonds, says the group partnered with the St. Paul Catholic Church in Gravenhurst, which had already raised a large portion of funds.
Edmonds says when the group approached the church they were able to access those funds raised.
The group has been able to match up with a family of four who have been living in Beirut for three years after leaving Syria.
