A pipeline replacement project along the Severn River is getting closer to wrapping up.
TransCanada officials are on the final stretch of the project, replacing a natural gas pipeline throughout Gravenhurst and Severn Township. Crews are expected to restart construction after the Labour Day long weekend, working on both sides of the Severn River from Monday to Saturday until November.
The pipeline replacement project started last November. The project was necessary to meet the demand for more homes wanting to access gas in the area.
