The heavy rainfall may not be over for Muskoka.

The long range forecast for the area shows predicts more rain could move into the district on Saturday and hang around for nearly a week. Environment Canada Meteorologist Gerald Chang says we can expect a volatile mix of sunny and rainy weather for the rest of the month.

“That seems to be the pattern,” says Chang. “We’ll get a few nice days here and there, followed by thunderstorms and showers for a few days.

Chang adds it seems like mother nature is making up for the lack of rainfall over the summer.

“We are putting all that rain in towards the end of summer,” he said. “If we had only just got the rainfall in the beginning that would have been great.”

Early predictions suggest we could see up to 15mm of rainfall Saturday and another heavy dumping of up to 10mm on the following Tuesday.
