South Muskoka Shield to move on from Gravenhurst Centennial Arena

A team that has called Gravenhurst home for 13 seasons is moving on.

The South Muskoka Shield are moving out of the Graeme Murray Arena next season with team President and GM Frank Demasi saying he hopes all the fans will still show up in Port Carling next season.

Demasi says he’s grateful to Gravenhurst Centennial Arena for welcoming them for so long.

Mayor Paisley Donaldson responded to the announcement saying she knows many fans will be sad to see the Shield go, but wish them all the best in their coming season.

No reason was given for the GMHL team’s decision to move on from their former Gravenhurst home.
