Georgian students offered some financial assistance with strike-related costs

College students in Muskoka will be able to get some financial help following the strike.

The province is offering up to $500 per student to help with extra costs like rent, childcare and anything else that may have cropped up while the faculty was on strike. This extra money will not affect your OSAP coverage. If you’d like to apply for this strike fund you can contact the financial office at Georgian College.

Students are headed back to class tomorrow after provincial officials forced the faculty strike to end. Classes at Georgian will be extended until December 22nd and restart just over a week later.
