The Dorset Lions Club has received support from the Township of Lake of Bays for a re-development project.
During the regular council meeting yesterday, staff heard from the organizers of the project. The plan would remove the ball diamond and add a half-court for basketball.
There will also be pathways around the park, including around the ice rink.
Lake of Bays Mayor Bob Young says this project is a great idea for the area.
The estimated cost of the project is $85,000. Officials believe the money will be raised from in-kind donations.
The completion date is scheduled for 2018.
