Several local firefighters were recognized by council for their long-time series.
During Monday night’s council meeting, awards were handed out to several firefighters. Awards were given to Jeremy Hughes for five years of service, 10 years of service was given to Todd Gates, Fire Prevention Officer Mike Vadija was appreciated for his 15 years and Rob Andrews received his award for twenty. Huntsville Mayor Scott Aitchison says these men are recognized for their outstanding work.
The Chiefs also received recognition, Deputy Chief Gary Monahan was recognized for 25 years and the other was Fire Chief Steve Hernen being acknowledged for 30 years of service. Huntsville Mayor Scott Aitchison reflects on the work Hernen has done.
The mayor added these men have been working hard all year as there were more house fires than years past.
