Nipissing University Muskoka faculty gain extra support

An announcement on the upcoming closure of the Muskoka campus of Nipissing University is being called into question by faculty.
On Friday, picketers at the Muskoka campus were joined by faculty from the main university as well as teachers with the Canadian Association of University Teachers on the picket line.
Vice President of the Faculty Association, Amada Burk, says the decision to close the campus next summer was never put through the proper channels.
Burk says they will be asking that the board reconsider it’s decision and at least go through the proper procedures before selling the property.
Nipissing University faculty have been on strike for two weeks following a breakdown of talks between the university administration and faculty representatives.
