Residents continue to speak out against getting rid of surgical services at Huntsville Hospital. Former councillor Tim Withey says the petitions are all over town and north in Almaguin.
Withey says he wants to take it to the next level and is currently organizing a rally in front of Town Hall next on Mar. 21.
He says he hopes this rally will inspire the Province to change a funding model that isn’t working for Muskoka.  Withey says in 2010 the government changed the way they pay hospitals to deliver services.
However, Withey says it doesn’t work for rural communities like ours. You can still sign the petition by visiting Town Hall, your local doctor’s office or pharmacy.
