Bracebridge says thank you to resident Bonnie Blain for her volunteer work

Bracebridge officials are saying thank you to one woman working to make a difference.

Bonnie Blain has been given the Ontario Senior of the Year Award through the Bracebridge Community Recognition Advisory Committee. Bracebridge Councillor Steve Clement says Blain’s contributions to the community run deep.

Some of these contributions include volunteering with The Pines Long-Term Care Home, Hospice Muskoka where she’s also a board member and various other committees and organizations. Blain also has logged over 2,000 volunteer hours working the phones for the Muskoka Sexual Assault Services in 2015. Clement says her contributions go on and on and it’s volunteers like Blain that help keep Bracebridge strong.

The Ontario award is given to residents over the age of 65 in each community annually.
