Ontario Camp of the Deaf Rock Crawl decision on hold

A decision on a by-law that would allow the Rock Crawl event at the Ontario Camp of the Deaf will have to wait. At last night’s Seguin council meeting, about 30 people showed up to voice their concerns either in favour of the proposed amendment or opposed to it. There were also numerous letters submitted ahead of the council meeting that council will consider before making their decision. Councillor Rod Osbourne also requested that before council makes a decision on the proposed amendment that all of council should visit the site to better understand the layout of the property which is located on Rosseau Road. The Rock Crawl is an annual motorsport event that sees drivers navigate the terrain on a portion of the property. Mayor Bruce Gibbon told the crowd that the public meeting was step one in the process and that council will be deciding on the issue at another meeting.
