Free BBQ set for International Overdose Awareness Day in Bracebridge

BRACEBRIDGE, ON- Anyone looking to learn about how to prevent overdoses can learn and get a meal at the same time in two weeks.

The Muskoka Drug Strategy and the Salvation Army have scheduled their annual summer barbecue for August 29th at 5:30 p.m. in Bracebridge’s Memorial Park.

During the event, International Overdose Day will be commemorated, and the lives of those in the community who have passed away from overdoses will be honoured.

The free event includes food, information booths on local services and supports, and training in Naloxone kits. There will also be a moment of silence, and a memorial activity.

Attendees are encouraged to wear their favourite shade of purple.
