BRACEBRIDGE, ON – Bracebridge Fire department is at the scene of a fire at the old Bangor Lodge on Golden Beach Road.
Witnesses report it broke out in the former resort’s main clubhouse building around 2:20pm. According to Bracebridge Fire crews had been at an incident on Fraserburg Road when they got this call.
It quickly spread, destroying the structure believed to be around 65 or 70 years old according to one bystander.
A full complement of firefighters was on hand with pumper trucks shuttling water to the site, which is near Santa’s Village Road.

The Bangor Lodge site has been sitting empty for many years now.
No word yet on the cause of the blaze or dollar amount. There were no injuries reported.
