Five men stand charged with possessing break-in tools and planning to commit crimes after they were arrested in Bracebridge. The OPP were doing a RIDE stop around 11pm Saturday on Ecclestone Drive near Robert Dollar Drive when an approaching vehicle turned around in an apparent attempt to avoid officers.

Police then did a traffic stop near Muskoka Beach Road and searched the vehicle in question, turning up break-in instruments and other property that’s commonly used in the commission of crimes.

21 year-old Armandip Grewal, 21 year-old Avtar Singh Sivia and 19 year-old Nitan Punkaj Thakur of Mississauga and 29 year-old Swraj Rai and 18 year old Jaideep Singh of Brampton, have each been charged with one count of Possession of Break-In Instruments and one count of Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence. All five are currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
