Bracebridge to host “Jurassic Park North”

BRACEBRIDGE, ON- Raptor’s Fever has come to Bracebridge.

According to an announcement from the Town of Bracebridge, municipal authourities and the Griffen GastroPub have joined up to do a twist on the pub’s usual parking lot parties.

On Friday, Robert Boyer Lane will be closed to traffic as the pub installs a large outdoor screen and sound system to stream Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

The town’s announcement also said that mayor Graydon Smith had no trouble jumping on the Raptor’s bandwagon, despite being a Blue Jays fan at heart.

“It doesn’t matter what part of the country you are in, everyone is wrapped up in this year’s historic NBA finals.” said Smith, in the announcement.

“Raptors fever has swept our town and its fantastic that the Griffin Pub is able to offer local fans the opportunity to enjoy this event together. Go Raps!”

Jed Corbeil, the pub’s co-owner, said that town staff have been very supportive of the project.

“We’re really excited to bring the community together for what promises to be an exciting evening,” said Corbeil.

“The weather gods appear to be smiling on us for Friday so we’re hoping everyone comes out with their Raptors gear on ready to party.”

The town has put a noise exemption and road closure in place for the event, which will run from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. in the parking lot behind 23 Dominion Street.

The Muskoka Brewery will be there as well, along with live music at halftime.
