50-year-old Innisfil man faces charges for driving impaired while snowmobiling

A snowmobiler is facing charges after trying to escape police officers on Lake Simcoe this weekend. According to CTV Barrie, the driver was on Cook’s Bay when officers tried to stop him. The man allegedly tried to hit the officers’ machines when they drove in front of the driver to force him to stop. The 50-year-old who is from Innisfil faces charges of dangerous driving, impaired operation of a vehicle and driving with a blood alcohol level over 80 milligrams. He faces a 90 day driver’s licence suspension and will appear in later this month.
