Firefighter hospitalized/$350,000 in damage after fire at Taboo Resort

$350,000 in damage is estimated to have occurred at this morning’s fire at Taboo Resort. Gravenhurst Fire Chief Larry Brassard tells the Moose fire crews will still be on scene for the next couple of hours putting out any remaining hot spots. The fire was declared under control at about 9 am. No guests were injured, but a firefighter had to be taken to hospital with injuries after he fell while fighting the blaze. Brassard reports he has now been released and is resting currently at home. Brassard says the fire tore through areas on three floors in the resort’s older section – the main lobby and above and below it. The fire started on an outside wall and was electrical in nature.
