The program kicks off on Thursday and will run from 9:30am until 2:30pm. Techno Girl members will keep in contact with these students throughout the year.

The idea of Techno Girls is to help these elementary students see the opportunities available in computer science. Currently only 12 per cent of computer science undergrads in Ontario Universities are women, which is why Drewery says she wanted to get involved in this program.

The Techno Girls will be going to the TLDSB LEGO Robofair in the spring to demonstrate their new skills.
