A power outage has hit customers of Veridian power in Gravenhurst. Nearly 5,000 customers are affected.
A strong thunderstorm rolled through the area just before 2 pm. It is unknown when power will be restored.
Just east of Bracebridge around 1200 are in the dark, with Hydro One expecting the power to be restored around 5:45pm.
Just around 4,700 in an area containing parts of Huntsville and heading north to Burk’s Falls are without electricity, but Hydro One is reporting most of those customers should have power restored soon.
