Beaches in Algonquin Park closed as blue-green algae discovered in Lake of Two Rivers

If you’re heading to Algonquin Park this weekend be aware there’s a blue-green algae warning.

The park has closed public beaches on the Lake of Two Rivers just off of the Highway 60 corridor until further notice after testing confirmed blue-green algae was present.

Officials say coming in contact with the algae can result in itchy eyes or skin as well as flu-like symptoms.
