MNRF conservation officers checking licences in Muskoka this summer

Conservation officers are patrolling Muskoka’s waterways this summer once again.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry reminds anglers they need to have a valid Ontario fishing license with them. MNRF Staff Sergeant at Parry Sound Enforcement, Robert Gibson says anglers have been nabbed for having an expired fishing licence.

Gibson says with pike and walleye season beginning, anglers need to stay within their fishing limits.

Gibson says officers will be checking to ensure anglers have a valid licence, lifejackets for everyone on board and not driving impaired. Learn more about Ontario’s fishing regulations on the province’s website.
