The MNRF wants you to be prepared for flooding this spring.
Ministry officials say there are a few simple reminders to keep you prepared in case flooding is in the forecast for you. The most important thing is to realize whether or not you’re in a flood zone and which time of year is most likely to lead to flooding for your area.
Make sure you have an emergency go back ready with clothes, medication and identification papers in case you have to leave your home quickly and always make sure your cell phone is charged. If you’re in flood season keep boats firmly secured to piers and make sure there’s plenty of gas in your car.
