Beaver Creek Medium-Security Prison was temporarily locked down today after an attack by an inmate.
Correctional Service Canada officials say two staff members were hurt when an inmate attacked one and the other responded to help. The inmate was separated from the rest of the prison population and transferred to another institution according to CSC. Details on the inmate or where he was transferred could not be confirmed by CSC officials.
The two staff members were taken to hospital for treatment, but have since been released.The institution is no longer locked down but officials say it is on a modified routine with inmates having limited access to services for the evening.
