MPP Miller says free child care another example of poor Liberal spending
Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP Norm Miller is voicing his concerns about the Premier’s announcement on Tuesday.
Kathleen Wynne announced that come 2020, full-day licensed child care will become free for preschool children from the age of two-and-a-half until they are eligible to start kindergarten. Miller is saying that if the Liberals created a more affordable Ontario over the last 10 years, there would be no need to make childcare services free.
Miller says that with the election being just over 70 days away, this move from the Liberals is simply to get more votes. According to the Liberals, free preschool childcare will save families an estimated $17,000 per child and allow parents to go back to work when they choose.
