Local alpine skiier wins first race in national competition

A Muskoka teenager is continuing her hot streak on the hills. Fifteen-year-old Ashley Campbell is currently in Collingwood to compete in the Under-16 National Championships in downhill skiing. Campbell was named the Top Ranked Ontario Athlete going into the competition and is living up to the title after winning her first competition in Super G at Georgian Peaks. After two runs, Campbell came out on top by more than two seconds.

Campbell has competed in 12 races so far in 2018, and won nine of them. She will continue racing in Collingwood this week for the national competition.
