Hot and cold spring weather could cause havoc on your chimney

Fire officials are reminding you to check your chimney, woodstove, and pipes for creosote.
Because the temperature has been flip-flopping between mild and cold recently, Fire Prevention Officer Matt Musclow says this is primetime for creosote to build-up.
Musclow says having too much creosote in your wood-burning appliances could put you at risk of a fire or carbon monoxide seeping into your home.
He’s encouraging you to have these appliances checked and cleaned.
