Lakeland Networks expands fibre optic internet into Gravenhurst
Gravenhurst is getting a major internet upgrade.
Lakeland Networks is busy putting fibre optic in the ground to hook up over 1,300 homes and businesses in the community. Lakeland Holding Ltd CEO Chris Litschko says this is a big job to take on, but it’s worth it for both the company and Gravenhurst residents.
Litschko says the cost of the installation is about $1.25 million. The new service will provide residents with an option to sign up for the 1 gig or 1,000Mbps service offered by Lakeland Networks. Officials say at this point the highest available speed is 6Mbps.
The service is expected to be ready between the summer and fall. For more information on where the service will be available head to the Lakeland Networks website.
