UPDATED: Snow and potential freezing rain are on the way to Huntsville starting tonight

You might need your shovels and snow boots in Huntsville this weekend.

Environment Canada now has Huntsville under a snowfall warning, which includes Baysville. The snow is expected to start tonight with 10 cm falling. The snow will switch to rain on Saturday morning, but then change back to snow once again that night with another 15 cm expected to fall by Sunday morning.

Be careful on the roads as officials say the heavy snowfall could bring whiteout conditions. Environment Canada says if you do have to travel, let others know your schedule, and bring an emergency kit along with a cell phone.

Bracebridge and Gravenhurst are still under a special weather statement. Environment Canada says means there is a potential for freezing rain in some areas, along with rain mixed in with snow. Several centimetres of snow is possible beginning Saturday night and into Sunday morning.
