Former Gravenhurst business owner scales Mt. Kilimanjaro for charity

A former Gravenhurst business owner is one of two people who recently conquered Mt. Kilimanjaro for charity. Scott McLaren, who is a previous owner of the Gravenhurst Canadian Tire, joined Mike Proulx during an 11 day climb up the mountain, raising $56,000 for the Canadian Tire Jump Start Program. The program helps kids of financially strapped families take part in organized sports. The pair, who are business owners in Niagara currently, have plans to attempt another climb in Argentina in coming years.
