Bracebridge author's Toronto Life article sheds new light on Samantha Collins murder case

A Bracebridge author has revealed previously hidden details about the Samantha Collins murder case in a new Toronto Life magazine article.

The horrific crime shocked many and much was kept from the public during the trial. Collins’ boyfriend Ian Charles Borbely was found guilty, but questions about the couple’s private lives and relationship were never fully explained.

Now Zander Sherman’s article “Murder in Muskoka” exposes those details. We talked with Sherman about how he gained access to some of the unheard material which had been covered by a publication ban…

Because of drugs, a failure to pay rent and custody battles about their young child, Sherman says the relationship deteriorated. Borbely was found to have murdered Collins on March 22nd 2007.
