OPP reports telephone scam in Bracebridge

The OPP is warning about a telephone scam. This month a Bracebridge resident reported he got a call from someone saying he’d won a trip. A man insisted on getting the resident’s credit card. The information was never given and the caller hung up when he was asked what company he worked for. Police say if an offer sounds suspicious or ‘too good to be true’, it probably is. If you’re in doubt, it’s wise to ask the advice of a close friend or relative, or even your banker. Only rely on people you can trust.
