Our local OPP says a new scam is circulating the area involving your credit card.
The OPP in Muskoka is receiving complaints about fraudsters pretending to be from a security division of a credit card company.
If you get a call like this, police say to ask for a call back number and what company they work for.
Officials say you shouldn’t give out the name of your banking institution because if they are calling you they should already know this.
If you have been a victim of this scam, you can file a complaint through the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre website.
