A Bracebridge OPP officer has been selected as the recipient of a very prestigious badge.
Staff Sergeant Wilfred Hurren will be awarded the Member Order of Merit badge during a ceremony in Ottawa on Friday.
Hurren will be recognized for exceptional performance of duty over an extended period.
Governor General of Canada David Johnston will be presenting the badges.
Hurren is one of 47 members of police services across Canada receiving the badge.
