After travelling to refugee camps, our MP is calling on Canada to provide compassionate outreach. Parry Sound-Muskoka MP Tony Clement visited refugee camps in Sulaymaniyah and Iraq last week and met with Kurdistan government officials as part of a One Free World International delegation. Spending three days on the ground in the region, Clement heard first-hand the horrific stories of mass murder, women and children being sold into slavery, raped and tortured, and neighbour being forced against neighbour at the hands of ISIS. He says Canada should be supporting the arrival into our country of all types of refugees from the region, including the minority Christian and Yazidi refugees and Syrian Muslim refugees.
