Be part of a national survey on loons.  Killarney Provincial Park will hold their Spring Loon Count on June 7th where nature lovers and park naturalists paddle through the lakes of the park and survey for loons.  The information collected is sent to Bird Studies Canada from different counties across the country to provide information on loon population trends.  These reports improve our understanding of loons, lakes, and our impact on them and help to conserve these very special birds and their habitat.  Anyone planning to attend is asked to meet at the George Lake Campground Nature Centre in Killarney Provincial Park at 9:00am on June 7th. For more information contact Killarney’s Natural Heritage Education Department at 705-287-2891.
