A house fire in Huntsville has caused close to $15,000 in damages.
Fire crews attended the fire on Orr Road shortly after 11:00pm on Monday. The fire started on the outside of the home and spread up to the attic. It was caused by improper disposal of a smoking material.
The Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Department is reminding everyone if an ashtray is unavailable, a sturdy metal container with sand is a safer option than plastic or any other flammable material.
