Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare is giving patients a new level of control in scheduling outpatient procedures.

As of Monday, patients needing diagnostic imaging like x-rays or cardio-respiratory testing such as stress tests will be directed to call the new outpatient line.

Officials say this allows patients to have a say in when their schedule is set for, rather than waiting to hear back from the hospital.

CEO Natalie Bubela says they hope to add more outpatient procedures to this appointment-based service in the near future.

Calls will need to be made three business days after seeing your healthcare provider to give MAHC staff time to process the requisition.

Patients can call 1-877-348-6264, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm.
