The Wahta Mohawks have secured the District of Muskoka’s support for government funding on a Water Treatment Plant upgrade.
Over the past 10 years, the community located near Bala has been under a boil water alert. District Chair of Engineering and Public Works Phil Harding says they have thrown their support behind them.
Harding explains the community’s reasoning for approaching the district.
With the district’s support, the Wahta Mohawks will look to receive grants from the New Building Canada and Small Communities Fund.
