Chinese investment an option for former Muskoka Regional Centre

The Town of Gravenhurst is trying hard to find new investors to purchase the old Muskoka Centre property.
While the property is owned by the provincial government, the town sees it as an opportunity to boost jobs and the local economy.
Director of Economic Development Renato Romanin says he has been in talks with a company that connects with Chinese investors.
Romanin proposed the idea to council to work with the non-profit company Canada Alliance to find suitable investors from China, and it was agreed upon.
Meanwhile this is not the only option the town is pursuing as it will work with the Ministry of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure to find other ways to redevelop the property.
