Our MPP’s latest bill passes second reading

Norm Miller’s bill aims at strengthening the Auditor General’s oversight in Ontario. If passed, the Auditor General will be allowed to follow public funds to indirect recipients and third party organizations. Miller says by passing second reading, this is a key step toward providing greater oversight in the Province of Ontario, and specifically, ensuring that tax dollars are being well spent.

Miller also says ongoing investigations that would benefit from such oversight include, the audit of Ontario community care access centres, Ministry of Transportation contracts with private service providers for provincial roads including the maintenance of highways during the winter months and the audit of Smart Meter programs across the province.
