Huntsville IDA robbery accused has a criminal past

Tristan Taylor had a criminal history prior to this week’s Huntsville IDA armed robbery. The accused remains in custody and will be in Bracebridge bail court again on March 24th. The Moose has learned that the 23 year old Perry Township resident has a history that includes jail time. In 2009 he was sentenced to six months for drug offenses after a search of his then Huntsville residence discovered a quarter pound of marijuana, 100 oxycontin tablets, and a shotgun hidden underneath a couch. Taylor was arrested in the Novar/Burk’s Falls area Wednesday afternoon and now stands charged with Robbery with a Weapon, Assault with a Weapon and Disguise with Intent. The pharmacist who was assaulted Tuesday during the robbery said the accused made off with oxycodone. Police say the investigation is continuing. (Photo courtesy of the OPP)
