Gravenhurst Lions Club opens new Pet Memorial Rainbow Bridge at the Wharf

The Gravenhurst Lions Club celebrated the grand opening of its new Pet Memorial Rainbow Bridge at the Wharf on July 1.

According to Sharon Morton, secretary of the organization, the initiative is part of a new fundraising effort to help support the Lions Club’s community projects.

Morton said the initiative aims to raise funds by selling commemorative tags that can be hung on the bridge in memory of beloved pets that have passed away.

“We’ve already got about 25 on there now,” she said. We’re just looking forward to getting more tags, and people can remember their animals and be there for a long time, I hope.”

Sharon said the Rainbow Bridge will be looked after by the Town of Gravenhurst and that the Pet Memorial tags are sold by the Gravenhurst Lions Club.

She said those interested in purchasing a memorial tag for a beloved pet can visit the organization’s website, complete an order form, and pay by e-transfer or by mailing a cheque.
