Peter Koetsier, who was recently re-elected Mayor of Georgian Bay Township, is looking forward to continuing to make investments and improvements in the community over the next four years.
Koetsier said he plans to pursue future investments through the township’s Refresh MacTier program, which focuses on reinvesting in municipal assets, including the Memorial Arena and Community Centre.
He said he also hopes to make further investments in township buildings, parks and programming, while improving library services in Port Severn.
Additionally, Koetsier hopes to build on programs established during his previous terms as mayor, develop a new strategic plan and advance other key projects throughout his upcoming term.
“We initiated a program this past term, and I’d like to see that run well this term with the water testing and water quality programming. And as always, trying to get good value out of our investment in the District of Muskoka,” he said.
Koetsier said he is looking forward to continuing to work with returning councillors Steven Predko, Stephen Jarvis and Kristian Graziano, while getting to know new Ward 4 councillor Darren Demera and District councillors Laurie Russel and Rod Northey.
Koetsier is returning for his third term as mayor after defeating opponent Arthur Christakos in the October municipal election. Council will be sworn in on Nov. 16.
