It's Pancake Tuesday

Many Christians will be eating pancakes for dinner tonight. Shrove Tuesday happens the day before Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of Lent, a time of penance leading up to Easter. Pancakes are eaten on this day because it contains eggs, fat and butter, items traditionally forbidden during Lent. Shrove Tuesday is also known as Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras or Pancake Tuesday.
