Man arrested after stealing empty beer kegs

A 38-year-old from Huntsville has been charged after stealing multiple beer kegs from an area brewery.

Provincial Const. Brett McCulloch with the Huntsville detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police says police started looking into what happened after a local brewery called police around 2:30 p.m. on March 14 about a “suspicious male party” trying to return beer kegs to the establishment.

He adds the investigation revealed the man may have also been behind the theft of other kegs from “several affected local businesses.”

The accused has been charged with three counts of theft under $5,000, two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of trafficking stolen goods under $5,000, and for destroying or damaging property.

A court date has yet to be scheduled.
