Almaguin Highlands Secondary School had all 29 of their athletes compete today at the Georgian Bay Championships held in Midland, Ontario. Almaguin had several fantastic results and will be sending a number of athletes to the Georgian Bay Regional Championships next week. The following athletes have qualified:
Aidan Anger won a gold medal with a first place finish in midget pole vault and a bronze in midget discus. Claudia Schlosser earned a silver medal in the Jr. 80m sprint hurdles and a bronze medal in the 300m hurdles. Andy Coleman won a gold medal in the midget shot put and a silver medal in midget javelin. Darryl Gordier won a gold medal in the Sr. Boy’s Javelin throw with a best throw of 50.66m, which broke an Almaguin school record. Krysten Walkinshaw won a silver medal in the Jr. Girl’s Pole Vault. The Boy’s 4×4 midget relay team finished 4th and will move on to the next round.
