Heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic causing summer damage at Annie Williams Park

Bracebridge is figuring out what to do about an annual issue at Annie Williams Park.

Town officials are getting complaints about the condition the park grass is left in after summer events are held there. According to one complaint, the lawn has been badly torn up from vendor and visitor vehicles during a popular event held in mid-July.

Town Councillor Mark Quemby says moving bigger events to James D. Lang Park is one of the options they’re considering.

Quemby says something needs to be done as the town usually spends close to $5,000 on park repairs each year following this particular mid-July event. He says the issue will be brought up during the next general committee meeting in August.
