A group of students from Monck Public School have hit gold with their jazz band.
Monck Principal Caroline Pattison says the grade 7/8 kids competed in a number of music festivals before making it to nationals in Niagara.
Pattison says while competing against other students from across the country including high school bands they were able to win gold.
She says their teacher Karen Lonsdale has worked hard with these students to get them to this gold standard.
