Muskoka Airport will run an emergency exercise tonight

If you see flashing lights and emergency crews at the Muskoka Airport tonight, don’t be alarmed.
The District of Muskoka staff in partnership with emergency responders will be conducting a live emergency exercise.
Police, fire and ambulance crews will be on hand to assist in providing a proper recreation of an emergency at the airport.
According to officials, the simulated situation will be a fire at the airport, which will be used to test the Muskoka Airport Emergency Plan and the Gravenhurst Emergency Plan Control Group.
During this exercise, there will be no disruption to service on either of the runways.
Airport Manager Mark Stirling says this is an excellent opportunity for these community services to practice together to deal with a situation like this.
The simulation will run from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
